This scheme, launched by the British Royal Society, helps schools to run exciting and innovative projects in partnership with a professional scientist or engineer.
The Partnership Grants scheme, says the Royal Society, provides grants of up to £3,000 for science projects run at a primary or secondary school or college in partnership with a professional scientist or engineer.
According to their latest announcement, the scheme has awarded over £1.1 million to 660 schools since 2000, igniting enthusiasm for science among young people across the UK.
Applying for this scheme
The next round of the Partnership Grants scheme will open on 3 September 2012 and close on 2 November 2012. There are two application rounds per year.

When the project is finished, participants are expected to evaluate its impact. They might also consider sustainable ways to build on the project in the future.
